Sargent Cycle World Sport seat

Sargent Cycle http://www.sargentcycle.com/ produces excellent aftermarket seats for popular sportbikes, cruisers and sport-tourers. The quality of the materials and manufacturing are top notch, and the seats are a good value.

It's hard to imagine what the factory seat designers are thinking in their design sessions. I can tell you it's definitely not comfort. Here's the stock seat from my Honda CBR954RR. If you are not going to ride for more than 30 minutes this might work for you.

Here is the Sargent World Sport seat on a 2002 Honda CBR954RR. As you can see the fit and finish are excellent. The seat fits perfectly with the Second Look Tank Bra. After years of use the seat still looks great and is as comfortable as the day I got it.

Here you can see the quality of the materials and construction. I chose the CarbonFX insert and the red welt to match my motorcycle. The seat contour of the seat is very comfortable and you don't constantly slide into the tank as you do on the stock seat.

CarbonTec Seat Pan

Sargent Cycle (Bottom View): The precision molded CarbonTec seat pan is very light and durable. After years of riding mine still look new.

The lightweight molded CarbonTec seat pan uses aluminum hardware and is very light and still looks new years later. The seat is light weight at about 2.7 pounds.

I remember the stock seat on

Submitted by Michael Curry on July 24, 2006 - 9:41pm.

I remember the stock seat on my '98 CBR1100xx. Damn, 30 minutes in, and my ass felt like it had been chewed by hundreds of wasps.

I opted for the heavy Corbin Gunfighter seat since I was familiar with Corbin seats (and like them a lot); I do wish I'd looked into the Sargent seat, as it looks like a nicely crafted seat (just look at that pan... I get depressed just looking at the Sargent pan... and thinking about the heavy, thick pan on my Corbin... Corbin really ought to get rid of that fiberglass pan.)

Well, design and construction details notwithstanding, I can ride 300-400 miles in a day on the 'bird with the Corbin, with only a few stops for gas. Can't say the same thing for the stocker.

My next ride will have a Sargent seat - I like the design and construction quality on the Sargent.

-Mike
