R.I.P. Buell

Harley-Davidson announced the end of the Buell line.

This is not a huge surprise given Harley-Davidson's financial situation, although it is bad news for enthusiasts. The new Buell models, especially the Buell 1125R and 1125CR models were kick-ass bikes and certainly worthy of consideration by many sport bike enthusiasts. Click here to continue...

Erik Buell founded Buell Motorcycle Company in 1983, it has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, Inc. since 1998. In 26 years more than 135,000 Buell motorcycles were produced. Harley Davidson sales slump continues

In an earlier story about the 2008 H-D sales slump, I wondered whether the then-current slump would extend into the 2009 (and possibly 2010) Harley-Davidson model year sales.

Well, I'm sure it won't come as much of a surprise in this economy: Harley-Davidson reports second-quarter profits are off by 91% over the same quarter in 2008. Revenue declined 27 percent to $1.15 billion. Hard times are expected to continue into 2010 as the economy remains weak. Click here to continue...
