2007 Corona AMA Superbike Championship

It was another beautiful day at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the final AMA Superbike race of the season. This event always provides the fans with great racing action and is a great value.

2007 Corona AMA Superbike Championship - Jason Di Salvo Turn 8a: Jason Di Salvo rippin' through turn 8a on his Yamaha YZF-R1 in the Superbike race.

AMA Superstock

Jake Holden's Suzuki GSX-R1000 was fast all weekend and he won from the pole position just edging out his Jordan Suzuki teammate Aaron Yates. Standing in the gap between the track and the pit lane in turn 11 is intense to say the least. It's amazing how hard the bikes accelerate while they are on the painted curbing. Santiago Villa had a low slide in turn 11 but was unhurt and got back into the race.

2007 Corona AMA Superstock - Santiago Villa Crash: Santiago Villa's low slide in turn 11. It's interesting how he pushes the bike away and keeps his other hand off the track.

AMA Supersport

Roger Hayden rode a smart race and won his first Championship taking the Supersport crown beating Jamie Hacking by just 3 points. It was far from easy for Roger hayden to clinch the title, the racing action was intense and there were some hairball passes that could have taken the front runners out. The AMA Supersport series is a lot of fun to watch because the the bikes are so close in terms of performance, making rider skill paramount.

2007 AMA Supersport - Championship on the Line: With the AMA Supersport Championship on the line the racing was intense.

2007 AMA Supersport - Geoff May - Chris Peris Crash: Geoff May #99 and Chris Peris #8 got together in turn 8, this is not the way you want to go down the Corkscrew.

2007 AMA Supersport - Serious Racing T8: Gotta Love AMA Racing; Martin Cardenas #361 is looking at Ben Attard just out of frame making a bonzai pass on these 3 riders, while Steve Rapp #15 is taking a ride through the gravel trap and Roger Hayden #95 is trying to win the championship.

It was an exciting finish to the AMA Superbike season. Ben Spies won the Championship again beating American Suzuki/Yoshimura US teamate Mat Mladin by 1 point.
