A Golden Opportunity

Highway 88 near Woodfords and highways 89 and 4 near Markleeville provide a spectacular combination of dramatic mountain views and fantastic fall foliage. In October, the aspens turn a beautiful color, revealing a surprising collection of wildly-colored landscapes to the lucky traveller.

Travelling east on 88 out of the mountain passes towards 89 and Lake Tahoe, we are delighted to see the hills awash in fiery colors.

Heading east on 88 from Sorensen's takes you to Woodfords - and some gently curving roads. Unfortunately, you may have a difficult time watching the road: there are so many things to look at, you need to be on your toes. Park your ride, take a stroll, and see the sights. There a gorgeous colors, streams, and mountains to look at.
