Back from Street Vibrations 2006
We got back to Jackson at about 7pm tonight. It was a good ride, a bit cold up at the top of 88 (near the lakes) but warmed up as I dropped to lower elevations. (Stupid me, left my heavy gloves in the motorhome with our 'support crew'.)
I'll be uploading new photos and story items as time permits over the next few days. The photo gallery (which has a few dozen photos at present) can be found here.
Reno here we come!
I prepared my bike and I for the upcoming Street Vibrations event, which I have done in the past on my Harley, but this year I am making the trek on my new mount, the 06 Hayabusa Limited. I am hoping to find other fellow sport bike fans to ride some of the rides with and would love to hear from you.
Street Vibrations 2006 in Reno, Nevada
We're attending Street Vibrations in Reno this year. We'll be riding up 88 the morning of Thursday, Sept. 21, and taking a bunch more photos than on our previous visit. We'll be there for the entire event, and hope to provide daily updates here (if we can find a good internet connection.)
Update: Check out the Street Vibrations photo gallery with recent photos!
Hot August Nights 2006
We didn't see many motorcycles except for a handful of Harleys and metric bikes in various parking lots and the occasional bike jetting by on the highway; it's possible that we missed out on larger collections of motorcycles due to our late arrival. Click here to continue...
BMW info pages from a former BMW dealer
I came across this site while searching for photos of front tire wear. I didn't find any photos I was interested in, but I did find some interesting BMW lore. Information on BMW wheel balancing, tire wear, what those 5 dimples on the BMW rims are for, etc.
According to the information on the site, the site owner, Duane Ausherman, started BMW of Marin in San Rafael, which he sold in 1975.
If you are a BMW enthusiast, check out these pages.
Travis Pastrana Wins Gold at X Games
Travis Pastrana completed an awesome double back flip to win the Gold in the Moto X Best Trick competition. The other riders wowed the crowd with some incredible tricks but you just can't beat a prefectly executed double back flip.
