Big Valley Honda in Reno, Nevada

Bikes on display: Large assortment of all kinds of Hondas
Bikes on display: Large assortment of all kinds of Hondas

Big Valley Honda (BVH) in Reno, Nevada is an impressive dealership by any measure. They have one of the largest selections of Honda motorcycles, ATVs, scooters, and personal watercraft I've ever seen under a single roof.

Since I'm a Honda fan, whenever I'm in Reno I try to stop by BVH just to see what's new. I dropped in during the 2006 Street Vibrations event to see the place and shoot some photos, so I thought I'd share them with you.

Coolest tow vehicle on earth

This tow vehicle is based on the Honda Gold Wing - since it's smaller than a tow truck, it can get thru stopped traffic much faster than a truck.

The superior manoeuvrability of the Retriever is due to a towing device folded on to the back of the motorcycle - making the vehicle only 95 cm wide.

The towing device is not unfolded until you reach the disabled vehicle. This innovative design allows the Retriever to reach cars swiftly and tow them safely.

The Retriever gets your towing company on the road and allows it to grow your business - because you will be faster than your competitors at reaching customers.

CBR600 F4i Mini Review

Some friends asked me if I would help them pick up a bike for a new street rider. The bike was in the North Bay and they live in the South Bay so I said "sure", I would not want a new street rider to have to ride all that way on the freeway.

So I got to ride a beautiful, nearly-new 2003 CBR600 F4i. The bike had only 700 miles on it, I was told the previous owner bought it then his wife told him to sell it. The bike has frame sliders and a Micron carbon canister installed.

Chopped VF1000 @ 2007 Easyriders Sacramento Show

VFR Powerplant?
VFR Powerplant?
Now here's something you don't see every day. I was tripping around the Easyriders bike show in Sacramento earlier today, and saw this very unique chopper with a Honda V-Four (VF1000?)

I used to ride an '84 VF1000 stocker, and I can safely say that the stock motor is capable of putting out some serious power and torque. I got hooked on metric litrebike power on that VF1000, and my addiction continues to this day.

Built by Todd Duarte of Elk Grove, California (near Sacramento), it had a number of interesting details. I was unable to speak with Mr. Duarte at the show, so I don't know the details behind its construction - Todd has contacted me by email, so I will try to get further details on this interesting metric bike.
