Viosport Adventure Cam III: Rugged, high quality designViosport Adventure Cam III: Rugged, high quality design

The Viosport Adventure Cam III is a compact, lightweight, high quality bullet camera suitable for use in a variety of action/sports settings. It features a Sony Ex-View CCD with 520 lines of resolution, a water-resistant housing with lens protector (or optional filters), and a coiled audio/video cord with integrated high-gain microphone.

I've had a chance to use the Viosport Adventure Cam III on several rides; here are my initial impressions and observations. I'll cover real-life performance and road-testing in subsequent installments. Read  More...

Here's a shot of the Viosport Adventure Cam 3 mounted under the nose fairing (under the headlights) on my '98 CBR1100XX.  This mounting uses 'homebrew' mounts (see main article in Gear section)

Viosport mounting kit

The Viosport camera mounting kit has arrived (actually, it arrived last week, but I've been tied up with other things) - we'll check it out and include it in our forthcoming Viosport Adventure Cam 3 review.

Viosport is sending us a mounting kit to be used with the Viosport Adventure Cam 3 that we received recently. When the new hardware arrives, we'll give it a thorough workout as part of the upcoming Adventure Cam 3 review. Read  More...

Viosport Adventure Cam IIIWe received our Viosport Adventure Cam 3 bullet camera. The unit appears to be finely crafted, and sturdy enough to take a reasonable amount of abuse, which is necessary when used on a sport bike or other motorcycle.

The mounting system included with the basic camera is pretty weak, though. It's basically nothing more than a section of extruded synthetic rubber, into which you slip the camera; the base of the mount is attached with standard Velcro. (The Velcro mount is probably sufficient to hold the camera mount securely; it's the mount itself that I'm interested in improving.) Read  More...
