Buying a replacement motorcycle battery? Who made it, and how to make it last longer.

YUASA Motorcycle Battery
YUASA Motorcycle Battery
Spring is on the way, and if you aren't lucky enough to have a long-lasting motorcycle battery, you're probably going to be buying a new motorcycle battery soon.

Here are a couple of resources that can help you choose a new motorcycle battery.

First, here's a Consumer Reports automotive battery article that says, in part:

Most auto batteries are made by just three manufacturers, Delphi, Exide, and Johnson Controls Industries. Each makes batteries sold under several different brand names. Delphi makes ACDelco and some EverStart (Wal-Mart) models. Exide makes Champion, Exide, Napa, and some EverStart batteries. Johnson Controls makes Diehard (Sears), Duralast (AutoZone), Interstate, Kirkland (Costco), Motorcraft (Ford), and some EverStarts.

Drifting Over the Edge of Reason - 2009 Formula Drift @ Infineon

Formula Drift, Locked and Loaded-Session Six/Infineon Raceway

I was sitting in the Photo Room at Infineon Raceway, on the Thursday before the IRL race when one of the other shooters asked if I had heard about the drift competition that was going to take place at Turn 7 that weekend. I thought there might be a story in it and decided to see firsthand what the buzz was about. I overheard someone say there was a Scion with a “Phase 9” NASCAR spec Tundra engine…a Scion?, another car had a supercharged V-8 and yet another a twin turbo V-6. Little did I know I would get more than I bargained for.

Buell Discontinued

It's a sad day in Wisconsin. Buell Motorcycle Company will discontinue production. Erik Buell founded Buell Motorcycle Company in 1983, it has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, Inc. since 1998. In 26 years more than 135,000 Buell motorcycles were produced. Buell motorcycles have won many awards for innovative design features. Buell also won the 2009 AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike Championship.
